If you know me well, you know that most days, I don't eat my first meal until well after 12pm. Especially, if I went hard the night before.
I don't follow any nonsensical programming or stick to a certain time period...I eat when I'm, HONESTLY, hungry. Sometimes, I push those limits...just because. I've been known to eat my first meal as late as 4 or 5pm. This is really no different than pushing a little further into a long run or bike ride. Extending a training session just to see how far you can push yourself.
I was fasting intermittently long before the trendy name and numerous protocols came about. I've never been on any type of I.F. "program" and never really gave it any thought, I just don't eat unless I am hungry. Crazy concept, I know. Most people stuff their faces long before it's time to refuel. When the fuel tank is full and you keep fueling, bad things come about.
Release the shackles that bind you. Think a little deeper than simply overcoming the urge to eat a cupcake or beating down an excuse to not get movement in. I'm talking about everything around you and how ANYTHING can trap you.
Nothing takes me away from the end goal and gets me focused on the immediate task at hand or next step like working a balance beam. The second I begin to think about getting to the end of the beam is the second that everything goes awry. I either fall or my physical effort must increase significantly to keep me from falling....neither of which are ideal.
